Brazil divided over Dilma Rousseff impeachment

By Al Jazeera Published 2016-05-12 05:32 Updated 2016-05-12 05:32 Source: Al Jazeera

Brazil’s senators have voted in favour of Dilma Rousseff’s impeachment trial. It means Rousseff is suspended for six months while under investigation.

She is accused of illegally manipulating the budget in order to hide a growing deficit.

Brazilians are divided over the process, with tens of thousands of people taking to the streets in rival rallies.
