Harris says Trump “obsessed with revenge,” calls back to Jan. 6 riot in closing argument

During closing arguments at Washington National Mall on Tuesday, U.S. Vice-President Kamala Harris contrasted her vision of leadership with that of former president Donald Trump in an effort to appeal to undecided voters.

“America, this is not a candidate for president who is thinking about how to make your life better. This is someone who is unstable, obsessed with revenge, consumed with grievance, and out for unchecked power,” Harris told the 75,000-strong crowd.

The Democratic presidential candidate also called back to the fatal Jan. 6, 2021, attacks, as she stood at the spot where Trump addressed his supporters before they attacked the U.S. Capitol three years ago.

Saying that Trump would walk into the White House with "an enemies list" if elected, Harris pledged to lead with "a to-do list" prioritizing the American people.
