April 6 Palestinian protesters shout during clashes with Israeli troops near the Israel-Gaza border. Israeli troops fired live rounds against Palestinians attempting to break through the border fence, the Israeli military said, a week after violence led to the bloodiest day in Gaza since 2014. On that day, Israeli officials estimated, tens of thousands of Palestinian protesters marched toward the border fence during protests called the March of Return. The goal of those protests, Palestinians say, is to cross the border fence and return to their lands, which became part of Israel seven decades ago. Mohammed Salem/Reuters
