September 28 US Sen. Jeff Flake, a Republican from Arizona, is confronted in an elevator by Ana Maria Archila, the co-executive director of the Center for Popular Democracy who told him she is a survivor of sexual assault. Flake later voted for Brett Kavanaugh's nomination to move to the floor, but he said he would only vote yes if there was a delay and an additional FBI investigation on the allegations facing Kavanaugh. Senate Republicans agreed on a delay, and after an additional investigation Kavanaugh was confirmed 50-48. Jim Lo Scalzo/EPAShare this page
