November 25 Migrant Maria Meza and her 5-year-old twin daughters, Saira Mejia Meza and Cheili Mejia Meza, run from tear gas that was deployed by US Border Patrol agents near the fence between Mexico and the United States. The tear gas was fired after some migrants on the Mexican side of the border overran police and tried to cross the border. The incident marked an escalation of tensions that have been mounting since groups of Central American migrants began arriving in the Mexican border city of Tijuana, drawing threats from US President Donald Trump to close the border.
